Rain in Guatemala
Howdy All,
Just a quick update. It´s raining here in guatemala, in Xela to be more specific. Xela is at nearly 8,000 feet altitude so even though its in the tropics, it feels like winter in California.
School is going well and my spanish is improving for sure. I´m not fluent yet, but working on it. I´ve also been able to meet up with German Avila of the InnerCHANGE team here and on sunday I get to be so lucky as to build a bed for a house of street kids (more like nail together, but still cool none the less.) On friday, I´ll be visiting with German a number of folks that tried to cross the border but got turned back at one point or another. I don´t know their situation entirely but I´m interested in hearing it.
Xela is a great city, probably the cleanest in Latin America that I´ve been too. The food is good and people are pretty warm as well. Right now Guatemala is having the polictical season and there are 14 polictical parties each with a candidate for president. The leader has %22 of the vote.
Alright, I gotta run but I appreciate all your prayers and emails. I´m responding as I can. Stay strong, seek the Lord and
Press on for Joy!
