Moving, again...

So, I'm moving. Not far this time, probably no more than a football field away as the crow flies. My room in the office will be taken up by members of the Avila family visiting for the next month. The Avilas are from Guatemala and are the ones heading up the InnerCHANGE team there. So, the six of them and their cousin will be visiting and probably going crazy being cramped up in here (there really is no place to walk around at night (or day) and just chill outside (which is quite a different situation than in Xela.))

I'll be sad to leave the office: there is always something going on, the guys across the street are usually out, I just setup the kitchen all spiffy and recycled some old water bottles to double as shelving and organization. One small step for solving the trash issue.

But I'm also kind of glad to be put into a bit more tranquil location away from the incessant and thought shaking motor cycles and jeeps that run the street at all hours. I also need to learn to seek people out instead of letting them find me. Finally, its a bit more primitive, the water isn't consistently on, and just a few weeks ago, there were worms in the water. Thankfully none recently. And for a bonus, there's a chicken just outside the door.

And in other news, I bought a tongue today. We were talking about the sense of taste in the escuelita (small school) and we used it to look at taste buds. Initially looking at it, the argument for becoming a vegetarian made a lot of sense. However, once the initial grossness had passed (huacatela!) I found that the texture of the actual tongue was just too fascinating. The tip is really rough like a cat tongue and then mellows out towards the rear. Yet at the rear, a nearly dinosaur like hide covers a small mountain before elbowing down 90 degrees. The kids and fellow friends were all grossed out by it. But now, I need to cook it. I think it will be my first meal in the new location. I really wish I knew how the Basque cook tongue.

Taste and see that the Lord is good and
Press on for Joy!
